roscoe can you share with me what battery you were using?
Universal Battery UB12180
Not sure where it was purchased, but trying to find out.
roscoe ok good to know. Is that with the T4 terminal? If that works I found an expertpower 12volt 18amp deep cycle battery on eBay for 33.99 free shipping. Thanks for info we just bought our first Spartan verizon 4g and I'm trying to get best setup. Hopefully battery box is coming out soon we are waiting for box to put camera out 250 miles away and I'm trying to get battery ahead of time.
I don’t know the names for the terminals but the box comes with connectors for the tab type connectors and screw posts.
The screw type are the T4, the tabs are either F1 or F2, I'm not sure which size.
johnnydeerhunter ok thanks a lot for your help from what it sounds like I can order the t4 terminal battery and it will work for the battery box. Do you know Is there a set date for when the box can be bought?

I don't have an exact date but from what I'm told they have been shipped and should be available around March.
Out of curiosity, for those of you using 12V batteries, what are you using to reduce the voltage to 6V? I understand the new battery box does it for you.

Unless you are building your own I wouldn't trust anything other then the one in the Spartan battery box to reduce the voltage, I've heard too many horror stories.
steve_oneal I use a voltage regulator that is adjustable and fully regulated. I set the output to 6.2v. From 5v to 35v input you get 6.2v out. It's rated at 3amps and 20w (25w with a heat sink)
Had a customer who I setup with a V4Gb and a dual 6v 12ah battery external box. He is now at P3 on the battery level still transmitting reliabily. Shortly after putting it out the firmware needed an update so it lost connection. It went about a week before he was able to install new firmware. Camera is set to picture plus video sending highest resolution pictures and 10s videos when he requests them. Total pictures sent are 3085 and stored on the sd card was a total of 6998 videos and pictures. Not too bad I think but can definitely say videos are tough on batteries.
