The request was NOT being sent to the camera. The camera only receives the request when it (the camera) contacts the server. The server doesn’t contact the camera unless the camera has real time on. Even so, if the server can’t “touch” the camera (because the camera is offline, dead, out of data, etc.), the camera won’t be using data.
I think you need to see if AT&T has logs that might indicate what caused the problem and also contact tech support, either support@spartancamera.com or 770-582-0004 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern M-F. This is not something that is common, as far as I know.
