No, you cannot ask the camera to send a picture. The video-capable cameras do not do real time. If the car moves at any time after the photo is sent, the camera should take a photo. However, it depends on where the car is in relationship to the camera and where is is moving in relationship to the camera.
The video clip is 10 seconds. A video clip is much better than three photos. The photos are within about a second. The video starts 2 seconds after the photo is taken and is either 5 or 10 seconds long.
I run over 20 cameras at our camp, as much for keeping an eye on two-legged varmints as for watching wildlife. I have one camera set to real time and that’s because I need one working real time for testing purposes. In my case, a few seconds one way or another doesn’t matter. Even though our camp has a 911 address, any time I talk to someone at the sheriff’s department, I have to get them to look at Google Earth while I “walk” them to our location. A few seconds doesn’t matter when it takes 5-10 minutes to even give someone an idea where something is happening, then there’s who knows how much time for anyone to get there.
You may be a lot closer to what you are keeping an eye on, where a few seconds might make a difference, but in a lot of cases, it really doesn’t.
